Who is holding this scroll?

What is the reference with chapter and verse?

What does it mean to you?

The picture above??? Write a comment to this website that describes this picture by writing out the scripture that it describes.  After you have typed out the scripture text, name all the details that you see in the picture and read in the text. Above is replica of the Ark of the Covenant from http://www.phoenixmasonry.org/masonicmuseum/images/the%20new%20ark.jpgWhat do you think about it?What do you make of the two figures?

What does the Bible call these figures?

Where do you think the Mercy Seat would be and what would it look like?

Feast of Purim

In OT we read the Book of Esther which describes the festival of “Purim,” the Jewish festival that celebrates Queen Esther (see the OT book Esther, esp. 9:23-32). The historical observance of Purim (/Lots/) was simply a time of “feasting and joy and giving presents. It is really about having fun and revelry. Through the observance of Purim we are reminded how one person CAN make a difference in his/her world.

The Rublev Icon of the Old Testament Trinity

There have been many questions about one of the icons in Mr. Linney’s class, The Old Testament Trinity

First, read the story that inspired the icon, Genesis, Chapter 18.

Then follow the directions at the website below and you will get an opportunity to pray with the help of icons.

Cameron Hall asked a great question, “What are the sticks in the three figures’ hands?”  What do you think?  Does the website above answer this question?

Brendan Harrelson asked a great question in Old Testament on January 11, 2008.  Could God have put Jesus in Eve’s womb rather than in Mary’s womb?  I told Brendan that he had asked a terrific question, because the Church has often thought of Mary as the New ”Eve.”  See if you can search online for the famous statue of Mary in Quito, Ecuador.  What does she have under her foot and why is that a connection to Eve?

Good work Brendan
