  OLD TESTAMENT and WORLD RELIGIONS

 For Thursday, January 17, 2008–Remember that you need to come prepared having read The Book of Esther.  If you have one of the class Bibles, Esther can be found on pp.501-513.  Come prepared to discuss this book which tells the story of a genocdial plot.  Keep in mind other historical genocides that you have learned about in your studies.

For Wednesday, January 9.  Turn in your test and a sheet of paper stapled with three parables from Matthew copied out and double spaced: 

Matthew 13:31-31 Parable of the Mustard Seed

Matthew 13:33 Parable of the Yeast

Matthew 13:1-9  Parable of the Sower

or

Matthew 22:1-14  Parable of the Wedding Banquet

For Monday, January 14.  Come to class with a written copy of The Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-13).  It must be written out clearly and legibly on a sheet of notebook paper on every other line.  Make sure you double space.  Do not turn in a typed copy. 

Week of Monday 1/7/08

8S–Identify two chromosomal disorders in preparation for the Cellular Biology exam on Wednesday.

Study both quizzes for Exam.

NT–re-read Parable of the Sower–Matthew 13:1-9

Study for Tuesday’s test on the Sermon on the Mount.  Need to memorize each of the Beatitudes.  Review the study guide.

Continue with reading of the Gospel of Matthew.  By the end of this week you should have read through Matthew 17.  How would you define a parable?

6SStudy for a quiz Tuesday on “Water Underground,” p.320-25.  How is Water an example of Energy Transfer?  How is Water an example of the Cycling of Matter?

 OT–For Thursday, come with a short paragraph on How the Law in Exodus affects the relationship between God and God’s people.  You should be able to utilize your understanding of the Law through Moses.  Consider the Golden Calf and the break with the Law.  Consider your reading in Exodus 20 and 21 last Friday (January 4) when Mr. Linney was away from class.  You could even consider our 1st Trimester work in the Psalms.  The Psalms are filled with many references to the Law.
