Jacob is wrestling God as quoted in ch.32:30 and a hint of God at ch.32:28. Four things I learned while reading was :
    1. Jacob was a con artist
    2.All God’s children were dysfunctional
3.Jacob usually had Esau begging for something
4.The twelve tribes of Israel were from Jacob’s twelve sons and 1 daughter

  6.   Christopher Wilson Says:

In Genesis 50, it is talking about Joseph and his brothers. Joseph’s brothers are afraid that when Joseph comes back, he will be mad. They think he will hold a grudge against them for the things they did to him and the crime they have committed. They think Joseph will kill them. Joseph says that “Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good”. Joseph’s brothers also say that Jacob wants them to be forgiven. The fall down to Joseph’s feet pitifully. They say “we are your slaves”. Joseph says that he does not want them to fear him. He then tells them that he will continue to be the breadwinner in the family and will provide for them. He continues to speak kindly even though they have acted meanly towards Joseph. This means that Joseph must really have a very kind, pure, and peaceful heart and soul. He is a really great person just like his father. This text shows that Joseph is also very modest and gracious and is not arrogant. These are very good virtues to have in yourself. Joseph’s brothers are not completely bad also. They try to own up to a punishment at least. This text also kinds of relates to me. Even though what I did to Dequan was intended to be wrong, god intended the situation for good. Now I get why I was given this assignment. You wanted me to realize what I did was wrong, but still good has come out of it.

  7.   Christopher Wilson Says:

    Genesis 21:1-2

The lord dealt with Sarah as he said, and the LORD did for Sarah as he promised. Sarah concieved an bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the time now God had spoken to him.

  8.   Christopher Wilson Says:

    Genesis 50 19-20

But joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid!”Am I in the place lord? Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to perserve numerous people, as he is doing today.
